If you want to sign-up your athletes for certain weeks in multi-sports and certain weeks in hockey, please fill out two different forms (one for each type of camp).

13 years of age and older?  We work with teenagers on a private and semi-private basis.  Send us an email to share your goals with us.

Our Idea

In an effort to support the local families throughout summer 2021, KHDC will be offering a multi-sports day camp throughout the school holiday.  Each day in a week, the athletes will get to try or refine their skills on a different sport, supported our staff.

The goal is to create a fun, dynamic environment for the athletes to spend their days throughout summer in a safe, supportive environment.  Over the course of the summer, we will be working with spikeball, lacrosse, floorball, golf, soccer, touch football, basketball, baseball, and more.  The exact list of sports may evolve following any new indications from Public Health.

Details

Dates: June 28th to August 27th (Each week a different sign-up)

Cost: 200$+HST per week (170$+HST for the week of Canada Day, and Family Day if you elect 4 days only)

Ages: 6 to 12 years old

Locations: Harrowsmith, ON

Registration

An athlete can join our day camp for a single week, multiple weeks, or the whole summer.  While we do have to maintain a ratio of athletes per counsellor, and by cohorts, we are prepared to scale our offering.  Pending the numbers for a new cohort to be added, we will send you an email signifying that you are accepted.

All families will receive, with their acceptance email, a welcome package.  From the welcome package, the medical information sheet and the code of conduct MUST be returned prior to the first day of camp.

Financials Arrangements

Because the costs are set on a cost-recovery basis to keep it as inexpensive as possible for the families, we do not have "wiggle room" on the weekly cost of camps.  There are, however, numerous ways we can support you in applying for different financial support initiatives if your family is eligible.

Safety Measures

Every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of all participants.  This is in two folds: sports safety and COVID safety.  While each of them have a very specific set of specifications that our staff will be diligently trained on, both of them have in common that they are non-negotiables at KHDC.  We will endeavor to provide the athletes with clear, definite instructions in each day, based on the sport practiced that day.  However, refusal to cooperate will lead to the removal of the athlete from the group.  In the event where the guardian couldn't come pick up their child, they will be instructed to wait at camp HQ until the end of the day, so as to not jeapordize other athletes' safety.

Refund Policy

Families will be refunded in full if the camp or a cohort shall be cancelled by KHDC.

Families will be refunded in prorata, if a cohort was forced to be cancelled part-way through the week.

If a child shall be banned from camp for gross misconduct, the fees for the ongoing week shall be lost to the family, but fees paid for subsequent weeks shall be reimbursed in full.

Medical Information

It is the guardian's responsibility to ensure that KHDC has in their possession all the relevant medical information that could help their child in the case of an emergency.  This will begin with the submission of the medical information sheet and will carry on with updates in any changing situations.

Respect

While conflicts among athletes is practically unavoidable, we will emphasize the conflict resolution processes that have made so many athletes learning under Sports Canada some highly skilled teamworker in various workplaces across the country.  However, pursuant to our core values, there will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for harassment based on any of the 13 protected grounds.  Drugs and alcool are also, obviously, subject to a zero tolerance policy.

Cancellations

While KHDC has decided to put these camps together to support families from the area over the course of the summer, and that we realize the importance of planning child care for your families, we will abide by the directions received by Public Health to guarantee the safety of all of our athletes.  As such, there is a possibility that, in spite of all of our efforts, a cohort, or even the entire camp could be shutdown, given the sanitary crisis of COVID.  We do NOT retain any liability or fault for having to cancel a camp or cohort under any circumstances.

Hockey Camp

Our Idea

In an effort to support the local families throughout summer 2021, KHDC will be offering a hockey day camp throughout the school holiday.  We want to help hockey players and goaltenders refine their skills using synthetic ice and technology to facilitate learning, while also introducing them to various different sports in order to promote physical literacy.

Athletes will also spend two periods of 45 minutes on synthetic ice in each day, working on their skills using fun and innovative approaches, following the Hockey Canada Licensed Skills Development Program instructions.
